iBook’s DRM Has Been Cracked By Requiem 3.3 !!

iBooks have always been protected from running on unauthorized devices by Apple’s FairPlay digital rights management (DRM).

Requiem, the latest variant of the popular protection-remover has the ability to crack the DRM, allowing digital books to be transformed into any eBook format.

The free Requiem 3.3 is able not only to remove the protection on media content (music and movies) taken from iTunes, but the protection on iBooks as well, according to Gizmodo.

Alternatively, the FairPlay DRM is constantly patched up by the Cupertino company with the purpose of ensuring that the features offered by apps such as Requiem are short-lived, which means that this security hole may be addressed pretty soon.

For the time being, folks are capable to convert all their iBooks to other formats in case they want to read their favorite literature on other platforms than the one provided by Apple.
